# Skills pack

Add Lockpick skills to your coding assistant so it knows when and how to use Lockpick.

Skills are short instructions your coding assistant loads when a task calls for them. The Lockpick skills teach it which check to run, how to read a report and how to make each kind of fix.

## Add them

Run this in your project.

```bash title="Terminal"
npx skills add promptadvisers/lockpick-skills
```

If you have the CLI, `lockpick skills` does the same, and `lockpick skills --global` adds them for your user instead of one project.

## What's in the pack

* **lockpick** routes security questions about your site to the right Lockpick check and reads reports.
* **lockpick-fix** turns a finding into a reviewed fix in your repository, then asks Lockpick to check again.
* **lockpick-dns** walks you through DNS changes at your DNS host and confirms them with the free Re-read this record.
* **lockpick-explain** explains a report in plain words and drafts answers to security questionnaires from it.
* **lockpick-watch** follows a site over time and flags what changed between scans.
* **lockpick-release-gate** plans a release check against preview deployments. It is coming soon.

The skills use Lockpick through the CLI or MCP, so connect your assistant first. See [Claude Code](/docs/ai/claude-code) or [Codex](/docs/ai/codex).
